FLHG-60-ON modules are SWaP-optimized (size, weight, and power optimized) and complies with the most restrictive military and avionics standards including MIL-STD 461/704/1275 and DO160 when used with GAIA DC/DC converters.
The front-end modules are rated for loads up to 60W and operate over an input range of 16 to 60VDC. The device operates in low-dropout "pass-through" mode and includes differential and common-mode EMI filtering to meet the requirements of MIL-STD 461, the basic military electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specification established by the U.S. Department of Defense. Input transient voltage is 100V/50ms, output voltage limited to 80V per MIL-STD 1275 (covering the characteristics of 28-VDC electrical systems in military vehicles), and includes reverse polarity and input inrush current (soft start) protection. This extra protection helps maximize system reliability and longevity.
Measuring only 40 x 26 x 8mm, the FLHG-60-ON is a compact package feedthrough PCB module that is very easy to install and integrate into new or existing DC/DC converter architectures. The module is rugged and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, making it suitable for demanding military and avionics applications.
The FLHG-60-ON meets MIL-STD 704 and DO160 requirements for power failure protection using external capacitors. A monitoring signal indicates a capacitor charge level of 90% or higher, while an on/off control allows the entire power supply to be remotely disabled, placing it in a low power mode. These characteristics translate into optimum reliability and a longer service life.
"Our new 60W front-end module makes life easier for system designers," commented Christian Jonglas of GAIA Converter. "Simply include this product in the input connections of GAIA DC/DC converters to fully cover input bus specifications for military applications and avionics."
