I  According to reports, the British Prime Minister met with ARM CEO, hoping to persuade him to let ARM be listed in London. The British Prime Minister also re-negotiated with SoftBank Group on the listing of ARM in London, trying to persuade SoftBank to let the chip company ARM be listed in the UK.

People familiar with the matter said: The talks were very constructive!

II According to detailed information, SoftBank Group was founded in Japan by Masayoshi Son in 1981 and listed in Japan in 1994.

It is a comprehensive venture capital company, mainly committed to investment in the IT industry, including network and telecommunications.

III Last year, the British government wanted ARM to choose dual listings in London and New York. At that time, British Prime Minister Truss planned to promote talks with SoftBank executives. The British "Financial Times" reported that SoftBank has suspended ARM's London IPO plan.

At the same time, SoftBank also landed in the UK and the US, seeking a valuation of US$60 billion.

IV While ARM has made significant strides in developing intellectual property for chips used in data centers in recent years, it has focused most on the automotive market. ARM is rapidly expanding its automotive chip technology business, with revenue doubling since 2020. Obviously, ARM has regarded automotive chips as the main growth force in the future, and will even die against Intel and MIPS in the next few years.

However, Qualcomm's recent efforts in RISC-V chips have put a lot of pressure on ARM.

V On the other hand, many companies around the world have broken the technical barriers of ARM and Intel. The ARM route is risky, in an embarrassing situation, and the future is uncertain.

Some professionals also believe that: ARM's arrogance has been retribution, and even the US technology industry has begun to betray it.

· In addition, research by professional institutions shows that in 2022, ARM unit chip royalties will increase by 19% year-on-year, and 70% will come from low-cost MCU chips; while unit chip shipments will increase by 5% year-on-year.  It is reported that this is the third consecutive year that ARM's unit chip royalty has increased.

·  As early as 2014, the annual global shipments based on ARM technology were 12 billion, and there have been 60 billion chips based on ARM technology since its birth.  ARM's revenue in the second quarter of 2017 has increased by 17% to $350 million.

·  Obviously, ARM has strong strength, and the British side naturally hopes that it can be successfully listed in London. But last year, the British media reported that Softbank shelved ARM's London IPO plan to pave the way for a listing in the United States.  Softbank itself actually suspended the ARM IPO plan due to the political turmoil in the UK, and plans to change to the US listing in 2022. Today, the audience is still looking forward to the outcome of the resumption of negotiations in the UK.
